Colorado pitcher Robert Gasser had a large part in his team beating the Los Angeles Angels, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Gasser, now 8-9, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Raisel Iglesias got the save, his 29th in 34 chances.
Brenton Doyle, who is tied for 5th in the NL in stolen bases with 32, had a direct impact on the outcome. Doyle contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Colorado up, 4-0.
"Robert did a nice job," said Rockies manager Bobby S.
The National League West Division-leading Rockies have a record of 78-55.
