Marlins Sneak By Rockies, 6-5
|
Miami and Colorado duked it out and the Marlins came out victorious.
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Davis Schneider, the Colorado Rockies lost to the Miami Marlins, 6-5. Schneider was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Miami reliever Jose Alvarado was the winner. His record is now 7-2. Trevor Gott took the loss. Edwin Diaz converted his 35th save in 36 tries.
Mike [UNRATED] Zunino helped out the Miami cause in the top of the ninth inning with a solo home run. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 4 with a home run.
"We ground out the win," said Zunino. "That's all that matters."
Miami leads the National League East Division by 18½ games.
