The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Boston Red Sox, 10-7. Doing his part was right fielder Kerry Carpenter, who went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Baltimore now has a record of 67-67 with the win.

Kody Clemens had a big 2-run home run for the Orioles in the bottom of the second inning. With Baltimore trailing 4-3 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 33-year old right-handed pitcher Ben Lively and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Orioles on top, 5-4.

"It was a solid team effort," said Carpenter after the game.
