Giants Deal Brewers 8-7 Defeat
|
Milwaukee designated hitter Charlie Blackmon was sensational. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. San Francisco beat the Brewers, 8-7. San Francisco pitcher Justin Topa got the win. He's now 4-1. Bryse Wilson was tagged with the loss. Ryan Pressly was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 30 save opportunities.
San Francisco used the hitting of Yasmani Grandal to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Giants on top, 8-5. For the game, Grandal had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I still think this team can play even better," Grandal told the San Francisco Bulletin.
The National League West Division-leading Giants are 82-53.
