Braves Deal Phillies 6-3 Defeat
|
Atlanta and Philadelphia duked it out and the Braves came out victorious.
The Atlanta Braves picked up a win at Citizens Bank Park, knocking off the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-3. Starting pitcher Spencer Strider played a key role in the triumph. Joe Jimenez converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
The Braves got a big at-bat from designated hitter Vinnie Pasquantino. For the game, Pasquantino was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 28th home run of the season gave Atlanta a 2-0 lead.
"Spencer mixed and matched," said Atlanta manager Steven G.
The Braves improved their record to 59-76 with the win over Philadelphia.
