Royals Come Up Short at Houston, 6-5
|
Despite a great performance by Kansas City center fielder Corbin Carroll, the Houston Astros defeated the Royals by the score of 6-5 at Minute Maid Park. Carroll went 3-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 times. The winner was Brandon Bielak in relief. His record improves to 12-2. Walker Buehler took the loss. Hunter Harvey converted his 33rd save in 42 tries.
In the bottom of the second, Houston right fielder Lars Nootbaar had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Nootbaar stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 6-2, Houston. For the game, he was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Houston manager Logan F.
The Astros, at 87-48, have a comfortable 15½-game lead in their division.
