Giants Get 3-2 Win Versus Baltimore
|
San Francisco pitcher Matthew Boyd had a large part in his team subduing the Baltimore Orioles, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. The winner was San Francisco reliever Gregory Soto, now 4-0. The loser was Phil Maton. San Francisco raised its record to 72-63 with the win.
San Francisco designated hitter Jose Altuve helped the Giants go up, 3-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Altuve hit a 2-run single off Baltimore pitcher Nick Nelson.
Boyd told reporters after the game: "Runs were scarce, so we had to work hard to get the W."
