White Sox Score Late to Beat Yankees, 4-3
|
The New York Yankees got a superb performance from pitcher Sonny Gray, but the Chicago White Sox still won the game, 4-3. Gray threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Chicago pitcher Cole Sands got the win, upping his record to 2-4. Taylor Clarke got the loss. Today's win puts Chicago at 69-68, while New York falls to 65-72.
The White Sox got a clutch hit from third baseman Nick Gonzales. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the White Sox.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Gonzales.
