Masataka Yoshida did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Los Angeles Angels from being beaten, 7-5, to the Oakland Athletics at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Yoshida was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Oakland is now 77-59, Los Angeles 64-73.

Oakland used a clutch at-bat from Keibert Ruiz to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Athletics ahead, 7-5. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Ruiz.
