The New York Mets faced a tough opponent in Detroit pitcher Sandy Alcantara, but still scratched out a win at Comerica Park by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Alcantara went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The third-place Mets have won 6 straight.

Bobby Witt Jr. came through with a big-time hit for New York. The shortstop smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 4-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
