Rangers Suffer One-Run Loss at Arizona
|
Arizona picked up a win at Chase Field, bumping off the Texas Rangers, 1-0. Pitcher Gavin Williams was a major reason the Diamondbacks emerged victorious. JoJo Romero got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances. The loss makes Texas 54-85.
The Diamondbacks got a big at-bat from catcher MJ Melendez. For the game, Melendez was 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Arizona a 1-0 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Arizona manager Mike R said.
