Varsho Hits 2 home runs in Royals Win
|
The Kansas City Royals beat the Oakland Athletics, 5-3, at Kauffman Stadium. Kansas City left fielder Daulton Varsho had an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Miles Mikolas got the win, improving to 6-5. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. Kansas City is now 63-75, while Oakland is 78-60.
Varsho had a timely hit for Kansas City in the bottom of the sixth. With Kansas City trailing 2-1, he turned a full count fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season, making it 4-2, Kansas City.
