The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.

The New York Mets used a stellar performance from pitcher Matt Boyd to throttle the Boston offense en route to an extra-inning, 3-2 win at Citi Field. The current losing streak for Boston has reached 4 games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jake McCarthy in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Alexis Diaz to win the game for New York. The home crowd went nuts.

"This wasn't a good win," said McCarthy. "It was a great win."
