Detroit turned a good effort from starter Hunter Greene into a win over the New York Mets at Comerica Park. The Tigers won the game, 6-2. In 6 innings, Greene surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The Tigers improved their record to 90-51 by beating New York.

Leody Taveras had a big 2-run triple for the Tigers in the bottom of the third inning. With Detroit leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Braxton Ashcraft and swatted a triple to right. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tigers ahead, 3-0.

"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Greene.
