Reds Deal New York 4-1 Defeat
|
Cincinnati Reds starter Seth Lugo hurled his team past the New York Mets, 4-1. Felix Bautista got the save, his 31st in 35 chances. The victory gives Cincinnati a record of 71-70.
Brett Baty had a big 2-run home run for the Reds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Cincinnati leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Sawyer Gipson-Long and punished it. The result was his 16th home run of the season, which put the Reds on top, 4-1.
"Seth pitched like a champ," said Cincinnati manager Jeff P.
