Phillies 4-2 Winners Versus Miami
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins.
Austin Riley made an impact in the 4-2 Philadelphia win over Miami. Riley, who finished 2nd in the NL in home runs with 47 last year, was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Josh Winckowski notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 4-1. DL Hall notched his 5th save in 10 chances.
With Philadelphia leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Riley hit a slider from Walker Buehler for a solo home run. It was his 31st home run of the season and put the Phillies ahead, 3-1.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Riley told the Philadelphia Gazette.
Philadelphia leads the National League East Division by 3 games.
