Astros Earn 7-3 Home Win
|
Astros right fielder Lars Nootbaar left his mark on his team's 7-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Nootbaar, who finished 3rd in the AL in RBI with 135 last year, went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Houston in the contest. Penn Murfee came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. The Astros, at 92-50, have a comfortable 15½-game lead in their division.
Alek Thomas chipped in a 3-run home run for Houston in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Thomas.
