Nationals Stumble, Lose to Marlins
|
The Miami Marlins defeated the Washington Nationals, 9-3. Doing his part was right fielder Yoan Moncada, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Sam Hentges earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 5-2. Miami goes to 91-56, Washington to 70-77.
Kyle Higashioka hit a 3-run home run off Javier Assad in the bottom of the second, which put the Marlins ahead, 4-1. In addition to the homer, Higashioka had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
