Rockies in Free Fall, Lose 8th Straight
|
The Chicago Cubs grabbed a win, 8-6, over the Colorado Rockies at Colorado Field. Chicago right fielder Jack Suwinski went 3-6 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Luke Jackson, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities. The win gives Chicago a season record of 88-59.
Chicago went up, 7-6, on Dairon Blanco's 15th triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Blanco hit in the top of the 12th, left Colorado pitcher Seranthony Dominguez feeling deflated.
Afterward, Colorado manager Bobby S said: "Every team has a bad week."
