Seattle Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Oakland Athletics got a superb performance from pitcher George Kirby, but the Seattle Mariners still won the game, 3-2. Kirby threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Seattle now sits at 61-87, while Oakland falls to 81-67.
The decisive blow was delivered by Trent Grisham in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old left-handed pitcher Nick Lodolo to win the game for Seattle. The home crowd went nuts.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Grisham.
