Nationals Win Squeaker, 4-3, Over Pirates
Pittsburgh got a terrific performance from pitcher Reid Detmers, but it wasn't enough to beat the Washington Nationals. Washington won the Nationals Park contest, 4-3. Detmers threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Washington reliever Griffin Jax picked up the win, upping his record to 11-6. Anthony Bender was saddled with the loss. Washington is now 72-77, Pittsburgh 68-81.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Washington first baseman Seth Brown, facing Anthony Bender, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Nationals the 4-3 win.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Brown said.
