Twins Earn 4-2 Home Win
|
The Minnesota Twins topped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-2, in American League action at Target Field. The standout performance belonged to Minnesota pitcher and Newport Beach, California, native Gerrit Cole. In 7.2 innings, Cole surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Earning his 3rd save for Minnesota was Jason Foley.
Oneil Cruz, who is tied for 4th in the AL with a .552 slugging percentage, came through for Minnesota with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The shortstop was a perfect 3 for 3 in the game, including 1 home run and 2 singles. He scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI.
