Texas and New York duked it out and the Rangers came out victorious.

Texas pitcher Bailey Falter had a large part in his team beating the New York Mets, 2-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Falter yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 5-13.

Braden Shewmake had a direct impact on the outcome. Shewmake contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Texas up, 2-1.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Falter said.

After today's action, Texas sits at 60-90, while New York falls to 84-66.
