Extra-Inning Win by Tigers Over Royals
|
The umbrellas came out during the Detroit-Kansas City contest at Kauffman Stadium.
The Detroit Tigers trumped the Kansas City Royals, 4-2, in 13 innings. Detroit second baseman Jose Ramirez was impactful. He went 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Detroit now has a record of 97-55 with the win.
Detroit took advantage of an error in the top of the 13th inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Matt McLain hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Tigers in front, 3-2.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Detroit skipper Chris C.
