Angels Win 7-5 Nail-Biter Versus Rangers
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels get after it.
The Los Angeles Angels beat the Texas Rangers, 7-5, in 12 innings at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Masataka Yoshida, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win belonged to Justin Lawrence in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Paul Blackburn took the loss for Texas.
Yoshida delivered in the clutch for Los Angeles. In the bottom of the 12th, he took a 1-0 fastball from Texas pitcher Paul Blackburn and parked it over the fence. The 2-run home run won it for Los Angeles.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Yoshida, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
Los Angeles now sits at 72-80, while Texas falls to 60-92.
