The New York Mets knocked off the San Diego Padres, 5-4, at Citi Field. It took 10 innings. Andrew Vaughn was a prime reason New York won. The first baseman went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. By defeating San Diego, the third-place Mets improved to 85-66.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Vaughn hit a sinker from Ian Hamilton for a run-scoring single. The Mets, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Vaughn.
