Blue Jays Come Up Short at Tampa Bay, 6-5
|
The Tampa Bay Rays handed the Toronto Blue Jays a 6-5 defeat at Tropicana Field. Shortstop Zach McKinstry starred for Tampa Bay. He went 3-3 with a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The Rays sport a record of 53-99.
Had McKinstry not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, McKinstry hit a run-scoring single. The Rays took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.
"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," McKinstry told the Tampa Bay Bulletin.
