Angels Drop Close One Late
The Texas Rangers faced a tough opponent in Los Angeles pitcher Luis Garcia, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Angel Stadium of Anaheim by a final score of 4-3. Garcia went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Blake Burkhalter claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 7-3. Texas needed the clutch hitting of Gary Sanchez to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Rangers on top, 4-3. For the game, Sanchez had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
