Rangers Drop Blue Jays, 5-4
|
The Texas Rangers did just enough to sneak past the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-4, at Globe Life Field. Texas pitcher Daniel Lynch, in particular, had a standout performance. The victory puts Texas at 57-96.
Braden Shewmake had a big 2-run home run for the Rangers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Texas leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 29-year old left-handed pitcher Justin Steele and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Rangers on top, 3-0.
Texas manager Daryl S praised his team's "energy."
