Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.

The Chicago Cubs topped the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 11-4. Leading the way was catcher Will Smith. Smith went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Cubs. The defeat makes Cincinnati 74-79.

Chicago won the game in part because of Giancarlo Stanton. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 2-1. For the game, Stanton had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
