Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners.

Los Angeles beat Seattle on the strength of starting pitcher Matthew Liberatore's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. The winner was Liberatore. He threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Spencer Turnbull. Carlos Estevez earned his 11th save in 13 chances.

Left Fielder Masataka Yoshida made an impact for Los Angeles, when he swatted a 2-run double off Spencer Turnbull in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Yoshida went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Los Angeles skipper Drew S.

The Angels improved their record to 75-81 by beating Seattle.
