Reds Get Extra-Inning, 3-2 Win
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Cincinnati Reds eventually prevailed.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Guardians, Joe Ryan, who is on pace for 214 strikeouts this season, was the difference-maker. The Cincinnati right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 10 innings. James Karinchak notched his 4th save in 6 chances.
Corey Julks had a direct impact on the outcome. Julks contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-2.
"Joe -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Reds manager Jeff P. "He was the key to us winning."
The win gives Cincinnati a season record of 84-74.
