The Detroit Tigers rode a solid performance from 32-year-old starting pitcher Luis Castillo to a win, beating the Cleveland Guardians, 7-1, at Progressive Field. Castillo picked up the win for Detroit, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 15-8. Detroit goes to 97-60. The win puts them 13½ games up in their division.

The Tigers got a big at-bat from left fielder Brandon Marsh. For the game, Marsh went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Detroit a 2-0 lead.
