Boston third baseman Brendan Donovan helped his team beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 9-4. Donovan, who finished 5th in the AL in on-base percentage with .377 last year, went 3 for 5 for the Red Sox. With the win over Toronto, the Red Sox improved to 77-80.

Boston used the hitting of Trevor Larnach to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Red Sox on top, 3-0. For the game, Larnach had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Larnach, "and then get after it again."
