The Miami Marlins beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 12-1, at Citizens Bank Park. Miami designated hitter Juan Soto had the hot bat. He went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 4. Walker Buehler was the winner. He's now 5-3. The loser was two-time All-Star Carlos Rodón. The defeat makes Philadelphia 96-62.

With Miami leading 8-1 in the top of the fifth, Soto came up to bat against Philadelphia pitcher Hogan Harris. Soto hit a cutter to right for a 3-run home run. His 28th home run of the season put the Marlins on top, 11-1.

"You can never predict what'll happen," Soto said. "That's why you play the game."
