Texas Sent Home with 6-3 Loss
|
Minnesota Twins starter Gerrit Cole pitched a strong game against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field, leading the Twins to victory, 6-3. Josh Hader notched his 7th save in 11 chances. Minnesota is 84-75 and Texas, with the loss, 65-94.
Elly De La Cruz had a big run-scoring double for the Twins in the top of the third inning. With Minnesota leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Roki Sasaki, who is tied for 7th in the AL with a 1.13 WHIP, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 43rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Twins ahead, 2-0.
In postgame comments to the Minnesota Bulletin, Cole said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
