Brewers Nip Reds, 4-3
|
The Milwaukee Brewers did just enough to sneak past the Cincinnati Reds, 4-3, at American Family Field. Milwaukee pitcher Clayton Kershaw, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Milwaukee reliever Robert Suarez, now 4-5. The loser was Alex Vesia. The win puts Milwaukee at 61-99.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Milwaukee. That's when Jeff McNeil hit a solo home run off 29-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Vesia to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"This place was rockin'," McNeil said.
