Guardians Earn Late 5-4 Win
The Guardians earned a hard-fought, 5-4 win in 11 innings at Progressive Field. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Texas pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Yamamoto went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Reliever Luis Garcia picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Keegan Thompson took the loss. The loss makes Texas 66-95.

The Guardians got a clutch hit from left fielder Andrew Benintendi. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Guardians.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Benintendi.
