Cardinals Upend Giants, 5-4
|
The St. Louis Cardinals did just enough to sneak past the San Francisco Giants, 5-4, at Oracle Park. St. Louis pitcher Shota Imanaga, in particular, had a standout performance. Jack Leftwich earned his 1st save in 2 chances. The Cardinals, at 80-82, sit in third place in the National League Central Division.
Bryson Stott aided the St. Louis cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"Shota gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said St. Louis skipper Jason B.
