Rays Earn 8-6 Win Against Blue Jays
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Rogers Centre.

The Tampa Bay Rays topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 8-6, with left fielder Zach McKinstry playing a big role. McKinstry went 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk for the Rays in the win. Yennier Cano earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 4-7. Mason Barnett earned his 2nd save in 3 chances.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Christian Arroyo came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Toronto pitcher Johan Oviedo, he hit a first pitch changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Tampa Bay on top, 4-3.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Arroyo.

Tampa Bay is now 58-104. Toronto is 75-87.
