Yelich Mashes 2 Homers in 10-7 Pittsburgh Win
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates topped the Miami Marlins, 10-7, with right fielder Christian Yelich playing a big role. Yelich belted 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4 for the Pirates in the win. Pierce Johnson closed the door for Pittsburgh, picking up his 1st save of the year. The loss makes Miami 2-1.
With Pittsburgh leading 2-1 in the top of the second, Yelich hit a changeup from Yu Darvish for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Pirates ahead, 5-1.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Yelich.
