The Texas Rangers banked on Paul Blackburn and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Chicago hitters in check. The final score was 3-0, Rangers. Camilo Doval earned save number 1. The win gives Texas a record of 1-1.

Yolbert Sanchez had a big 2-run double for the Rangers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Texas leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Brandon Woodruff, who finished 2nd in the NL in innings pitched with 218.1 in 2022, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 3-0.

"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Blackburn.
