The New York Mets topped the Los Angeles Angels, 7-4, in National League action at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York second baseman Marcus Semien. New York reliever Tommy Kahnle picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Luis Patiño was tagged with the loss. The loss has the Angels at 1-2.

New York won the game in part because of Bobby Witt Jr.. The shortstop ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Mets ahead, 3-0. For the game, Witt Jr. had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
