The 7-1 Boston win over Texas was due in large part to Javier Baez. The Red Sox shortstop was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The loss drops Texas to 2-2.

Jorge Polanco drew 1 walk in 5 trips to the plate for Boston. The 31-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Matt Canterino. It was his 2nd walk of the season.

Polanco told a Boston Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
