On Road, Philadelphia Beats Washington, 6-3
|
Good production from first baseman Josh Bell helped the Philadelphia Phillies topple the Washington Nationals, 6-3. Bell was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Phillies. Nick Martinez was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was 31-year old left-handed pitcher John Means. Philadelphia is off to a hot start at 2-1.
With Philadelphia trailing 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Bell hit a 2-run single off Washington hurler John Means. It was the 3rd hit of the season for Bell and put his team ahead, 2-1.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Bell.
