Behind a solid performance from catcher Will Banfield, the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Boston Red Sox, 9-3. Banfield was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Orioles. Boston, with the loss, is 2-3.

With Baltimore leading 6-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Banfield came up to bat against Boston pitcher Jared Koenig. Banfield hit a cutter to right for a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Orioles on top, 9-1.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Banfield told the Baltimore Chronicle.
