Tampa Bay Rays starter Tylor Megill pitched a strong game against the Texas Rangers at Tropicana Field, leading the Rays to victory, 5-4. Nick Sandlin, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1 innings. Yennier Cano got credit for the save for Tampa Bay. It was his 3rd of the year.

Tampa Bay took the lead, 4-2, on Mitch Haniger's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Texas pitcher Yuki Matsui in the bottom of the eighth.
