St. Louis turned a good effort from starter Shota Imanaga into a win over the Oakland Athletics at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals won the game, 5-2. Oakland is 4-2 after the loss.

The Cardinals got a big at-bat from right fielder Wenceel Perez. For the game, Perez was 2-3 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead.

Perez told a St. Louis Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
