Philadelphia beat Colorado in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Philadelphia Phillies downed the Colorado Rockies, 4-1, at Citizens Bank Park. Stellar pitching by Blake Snell had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who finished 5th in the NL in innings pitched with 207.1 in 2021, handcuffed his opponent all game. In 6 innings, Snell surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Justin Martinez wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.

The Phillies got a big at-bat from third baseman Austin Riley. For the game, Riley was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Philadelphia a 3-0 lead.
