Houston Gets 5-2 Win
|
The Houston Astros welcomed the Texas Rangers to an night game at Globe Life Field.
Houston pitcher Framber Valdez did his part in helping his team defeat the Texas Rangers, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Valdez yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-0. Hunter Harvey earned the save for Houston, his 4th of the year.
The Astros got a big at-bat from right fielder Lars Nootbaar. For the game, Nootbaar went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Houston a 1-0 lead.
"Framber pitched his heart out," said Houston manager Logan F.
Texas falls to 1-6.
