The Detroit Tigers topped the Chicago White Sox, 1-0, in American League action at Comerica Park. The standout performance belonged to Detroit pitcher and Azua, Dominican Republic, native Sandy Alcantara. The Tigers, now 6-2, have hit the ground running this season.

The Tigers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Randy Arozarena. For the game, Arozarena was 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Detroit a 1-0 lead.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Arozarena.
